When to use Copilot
Copilot is a sensible first choice for a form you have not seen before or a role that matters enough to inspect every answer. Ask: “Use my resume to prepare this application for review. Do not submit it.” Job Agent fills and checks a supported form, then stops.
Read the result before you send it. Confirm the resume attachment and look closely at work authorization, sponsorship, salary, location, and questions written for this company. You can correct a field or decide the role is not for you.
You can also ask Job Agent to evaluate a posting or tailor a resume without opening an application. Neither task sends anything to an employer.
Copilot is also useful when a role asks for a custom written response or when you want to compare the form with the original posting. The stop before submission gives you a chance to change your mind, edit an answer, or choose a different resume.
When to use Autopilot
Autopilot starts with an explicit request to apply and enough information about you to complete the form. For example: “Find product design jobs in Boston that fit my experience. Apply where the application is complete and verified. Tell me which jobs were submitted and which need my input.”
Job Agent checks each supported application before submitting. A missing answer, an uncertain field, or an incomplete form leaves that application unsent. The result should tell you what needs your attention; it should not appear in the submitted count.
Autopilot is a separate choice for a particular run, not a setting that turns every future chat into an application. If you give it several roles, read the outcome for each one. A role can be skipped for weak fit, blocked by a form, or submitted; those are different results.
Will Job Agent ask me again before submitting?
In Autopilot, your initial request sets the mode for that run. A ready application can be submitted after verification without another mode-selection prompt. In Copilot, Job Agent stops before submission. A fit score or completed resume on its own does not grant permission to apply.
What if the result says the application may have been sent?
Do not assume success or click Submit again immediately. Look for a confirmation on the employer’s site or an email receipt. If neither settles it, check the application status with the employer. Job Agent should not repeat a submission whose outcome is unknown.
